FLY TYING

Learning to tie your own flies ads a whole new dimension to fly fishing.

Understanding the world of the trout and what they eat. You will be introduced to the insect kingdom and how with fur feather and tinsel we can fool the fish into thinking it's eating a natural food item.

fly tieFly tying holds a fascination for me, it's a mixture of history, biology and craft.

Once you start tying your own flies you will become a true fly fisher and may even catch the bug for tying flies as an art form.

At first everyone feels that they are all fingers and thumbs, but with a little practice you will soon be tying your own flies.

I run these courses during the Winter, I can run them for small groups at other times.
